Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actor who is employed in film and TV is well known for movies like Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into entertainment early and began being the lead in a variety of television dramas by the time she was just 16. Her acclaimed and critically acclaimed performance in the television film made for TV Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including that in the role of Hitler's Secretary Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are also Oscar nominated features featuring women. Alexandra participated in several well-known national and international projects over the past few years. This includes the British biographical film Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and French history mini-series Napoleon among others. She was also part of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
